I am unsure on whether Elle wants this to be about HP or the site, or whatever it is supposed to be, but I thought asking about our favourite pairings would fit here.
So, what is your favourite pairing(s) in the Harry Potter series and why?
I think my absolute favourite is Draco/Ginny, more because I just find them so wonderful to write about, and they just have this extra something to them. It's like intense, passionate and so angsty that you just cannot help but love it!
I also like Harry/Hermione. This to me just seems like that cute relationship where the two start out as friends and it grows into something deeper and more mature. It is the ultimate relationship in my opinion, and much of what I am looking for in my own life.
Last, but not least, I like Ron/Luna. More for kicks and giggles, but I think these two are really cute together.

I'm definity a Ron/Hermione fan. Hello those two are soooo made for each other. She needs him so things are exciting and funny, someone to argue with because he kind of frustrates her but in a good way. He needs her because she challenges him to be a better person and to realise and change his priorities. So JKRowling better not kill either of them!

Hehhe, you like the Love/hate relationships?
I think Ron/Hermione are alright but sometimes I get tired of the bickering. I can see why you would like them though.

Well, my all time favorite pairing is Draco/Ginny (and I spend a lot of time reading at dracoandginny.com) but then I also like James/Lily, Hermione/Snape, and Pansy/Draco. Those are generally the only things that I will ready. I hate most of the trio (the male part) and I generally wish for their death in the fics that I read.

ouch, mollie! That's harsh! =) For me, I have different pairings I like. For the books, I'm all for Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny. I do, however, dislike reading fanfictions with those pairings. However, once in a while, I give one a try and sometimes they turn out good, but sometimes they're a total flop. For writing and reading fanfiction, I've grown to ship Hermione/Fred/Harry(I agree completely with you, moogle)/Blaise/Draco (i don't know why...Hermione's not really my favorite character, but I love to write her), some Ginny/Draco. I also like Lily/James, and then some offbeat pairings like an occasional Lily/Remus or Lily/Lucius. Yeah. I have a lot. =) many ships do I sail, but for only a few am I a die-hard sailor.

The only one of the trio I remotely like is Harry... only because he does have some potential. I just have a habit of liking the Antagonists.... or the evil folks. I especially like the evil-people-turned-good-but-not-really, you know what I mean? So, most of the pairings I like are slash, only because most of the women in HP are... I dunno, not my type, I suppose? I can only write slash, too....
My favorite pairing, then? It'd have to be between Harry/Tom, James/Tom, or Lily/Severus, just because I can. I especially like it when it's JPTMR and LESS in one fiction, but that's a little too much to ask for, isn't it? I wrote one, in fact. I never finished the sequel, though.
Something else I just realized is that I usually take an omnipresent pov when I write HPTMR, but all other ships, I usually write from Harry or the Dark Lord's pov. Odd, I suppose.

You know what I have always wondered is why people often ship Hermione/Fred but not Hermione/George. If you could explain this to me Kat that would be great.
I find I can't really handle slash. It's just...off for me, but again I can understand why people would want to ship it.
I'm the same. I mean, I have way more ships that I like, for example, Draco/Hermione, Blaise/Hermione, Draco/Pansy, Harry/Pansy, Snape/Hermione, Snape/McGonagall, Snape/Lily lol, I could be here for a while.
Bu there are just those few that you really love and can read fanfiction for.

I've read a few good Snape/McGonagall and a few good Tom/McGonagall and even a few good of the ones with Lucius and some of the other Death Eaters... but the rest of them make them all fluffy and happy and crap or very depressed and wallowing in their sorrows.... >>; it drives me nuts!!!

hehe, I move between the extremes, of fluffy and humourous, to angsty and dramatic. I like anything though, as long as it isn't cliche and so OOC that you can't handle it.

Exactly! I mean, some of the Severitus, I won't read past the first chapter, since Harry and/or Severus (or even the Dark Lord!!) are so out of character that it makes me what to puke.
I like it when someone has a very in-character Harry sorted into Slytherin and continue on with all the other Slytherins, but end up helping the Dark Lord (although tricked into it) and become heavily involved with the Dark Order (pairing(s) ensue). But sometimes even the fics with those premises go completely wacko! I don't know how or why.... they just do.

A HTMR seems like a very difficult ship to write...And I don't even read it. It just presents so many challenges I'm surprised you've found any. Part of the reason I don't read any Severus or TMR stories is due to the fact you mentioned: that few can write the characters well enough I can tolerate them.
Moogle, that is a spectacular question. haha. For me, I see Fred as more of a bold character, and he just has certain personality quirks you don't see in George. He's more reserved and quiet. It also has a lot to do with the certain fanfiction you're reading. Fred/Hermione is only a good ship if the writer manages to contrast Fred and George in just the right way where the reader can obviously see 'well duh, she's supposed to be with Fred'. I suppose I can attribute the fact that I ship Hermione/Fred to the fact that the first fanfiction of H/Fr I read. I instantly fell in love with Fred, and George was just so different from Fred, that I couldn't really see her with George. (I do *very* occasionaly read H/G, just to see if I can tell a difference). Ah...I'm afraid I've rambled to much again. aw shucks. sorry. =)

I adore Draco/Ginny. They are my FAVORITE ship. I also like to read twincest (don't ask why, because I don't know either), Gin N' Tonic, Ron/Hermione, Harry/Luna...and I think those are all of my favorites.

I would have to go with HP/TMR(LV). Mostly because I can't stand half the girls, I'm routing for the DE's to win, and it would just be the most amusing thing if Harry turned evil. I mostly read and write slash because there aren't that many appealing girls in the books. If we go toward cannon though, I'd have to say Narcissa/Lucius. They're just a fun pair to write when I do write het. xD

I like the Founder-fics, too! Ever since RPG-ing as Salazar, I don't know why, but I just can't get away from reading them. Pretty much any combination of pairings that don't include SalazarXHelga ..... I don't know why, though. I guess that it's since Helga fully devoted herself to Godric, I have a hard time seeing Salazar devote himself to the one who took away his best friend -cough-, yeah.
What I haven't found, that sounds really interesting.... is Harry being the reincarnate of GODRIC! Blast it, he's the reincarnate of Salazar how many times... but never Godric... -sighs- [I'm starting to go off track!! ><;]

Ooh, I was going to have Harry has the reincarnation of Salazar in one of my fics, but I ended up changing it.
Kat, that makes a whole lot more sense, so thank you!!
