Ron and Hermione are good for each other. Love isn't always just getting along.

Fighting only inspires more passion. (Unless you are Hermione, and you just wish to beat the crap out of Ron sometimes)

I dunno about you Grae Black, but speaking from someone who has had a few bickering relationships, they only end in tears and arguments, and never work out. Love doesn't need to be complicated, it's just people like to make it so. Harmony is the best thing you can have in a relationship, and being selfish, and purposely being rude to your partner is not harmonious at all.
Harry and Hermione, no matter what people say, will always have that bond, which people like me, and I'm sure mione713 can attest to this too, love. It doesn't matter if you want to say it is strictly platonic, because the point remains that bickering relationships are only nice in novels and fiction. Real life is not the same.

I've always thought that Harry/Hermione was too cliche...I just didn't like it... hah. I actually found an old journal that I had in 4th grade... and I wrote about my now best friend...but in 4th grade we hated each other...and this is exactly what I wrote, I kid thee not... "There is this girl named Culley in my class. She was talking in recess about how Harry Potter loves Hermione Granger. I think she is stupid."
It made me laugh...
Anyway, I've always loved the love/hate pairings... like draco/hermione or blaise/ron...just keeping that little kid feel like "If he pulls your hair and teases you, that means he likes you." ... you know what I mean?

Harmony is all good and well, but there is no "perfect relationship". There will always be arguments/fights, no matter how small or large they are. They exist. They are just one of a million that makes up a relationship.

yeah... I mean, for the most part, moogle, I agree. Relationships won't work if you're constantly fighting. But you're never going to constantly get along with someone you care about, either. The very fact that you care about them makes you want to work hard to look out for them, and therefore press your opinions upon them. This will undoubtedly cause conflict every once in a while, but that doesn't mean that the relationship won't work out.
What makes a good relationship is working through your differences, rather than just throwing in the towel every time things look tough. And that's how Ron and Hermione are. They get mad at each other, they fight it out, and when they come through holding hands then they end up with a stronger bond than they had to start with.
Or at least, that's my opinion. *shrug*

Lol, I don't think you really got what I meant, but *shrugs* that's fine. I know that not every relationship is all sunshine and roses, but the point is that from what I saw with R/Hr is a lot of bickering and no communication. Instead of discussing their feelings or trying to reason with each other, they just snapped at each other and offended each other. When that failed they would go into sulking or just ignore the problem all together and act like nothing had happened. Harry always had to be the diplomatic one to bring them back together. I'll just say now that there is not much point debating with me over h/hr and r/hr, because I'm pretty stuck in my ways

I understood what you meant Moogle. I've also been in a few relationships where all we did were fight. Like Ron and Hermione, we had some good times, but there were more arguments then being happy together, and you can't grow old with someone like that. It does always end in tears, and is all and all not worth it in the end. If you can't just appreciate one another for the good qualities you have and are always fighting about the flaws, then just don't do it at all.
I never ever liked Ron/Hermione, I thought it was a ridiculous pairing. Ron is too...wimpy, I suppose you could say, for Hermione, and I always thought she had an old soul and should end up with someone older. I'm not sure I like Harry/Hermione, because I like Harry/Ginny soooo much. I think their adorable together, to be truthful, but Hermione I always pictured her with Lupin, Sirius, and Severus. I'm weird, I know.

haha, I like that "an old soul". I think she could be with someone older, but sometimes I think she likes being in control, so maybe in that sense Ron is good for her. I do like Draco/Hermione though. Something about those forbidden pairings, lol.

lol that's one pairing i just cant stomach. Draco and hermione, i dont know why, but they just dont seem right...
Harry and Draco, as impossible as it is from the books, is still the perfect pairing for me. *shrug* but then again that's the pairing i was introduced to first. I remember i went on for a while ready Harry/Ginny or other pairings, but ended up bored... there never seemed to be a spark like there is with H/D...
and beside the 7th book obviously supports them. "DH"
