Taking off for my vacation -- heading to New York City for, believe it or not, the first time in my nineteen years of life. So excited! If only the JK interviews being done by MSNBC this weekend were live . . . I should be back sometime Monday!

realmer- I only live about half an hour from NYC, so it's kind of lost its appeal, but it really is a pretty cool city. I'm sure you'll have fun! ^_^

I have returned! I enjoyed myself immensely and I think I managed not to look too much like a tourist!

We walked. A LOT. I realize that's what you do in NYC, but . . . I'd never appreciated how huge a major city is before. We were only there for one day because that's really all we can afford, but we saw Times Square and Rockefeller Plaza and Central Park and I got to see Bethesda Fountain, which I was really excited about, if only because I shared it with the shadows of Victor Garber and the cast of Godspell and Meryl Streep and Mary Louise Parker and the cast of Angels in America. As for musicals, we saw The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, which was doubly fun because I know one of the cast members -- I worked on a show with her two years ago in Mansfield. I know a Broadway star! I'm still getting over the fact that that is true. We also did some shopping, but I honestly didn't spend that much money, which surprised me at least. All in all, it was a fun, whirlwind tour, and I wish I'd been able to see about five more shows, but what can you do?

lol, I know. It's crazy expensive, too. I haven't been to a show in a while... Oh well, I'm going to see Shakespeare in the Park next week, so I guess that counts. lol, wanna fly back up and see it with me? Wow, you worked with someone on Broadway. That is incredibly cool! Is that what you want to end up doing- singing, acting?

I love it (singing, acting, etc), but I don't want to do it on Broadway. I'd be far too terrified. I'm actually at school now cobbling together my own sort of Theatre Education major, so I'll just content myself with acting locally and teaching the next generation of Broadway stars. And, of course, telling everyone that I worked on Beauty and the Beast with someone who's now a star on Broadway! And I'd love to come to Shakespeare in the Park . . . unfortunately, I'm running tech on a production of Cats the next two weekends . . . and I'm poor. I'll be with you in spirit!

lol, yeah, it'd be pretty crazy to drive or fly from Ohio to NY to see one show, even if it is SitP. One of my friends from Kentucky was like "Hey, we should see a movie together sometime" a few days ago, and I was like "... dude, you're in Kentucky!" Wow, it's cool that you've got a plan. I've got no clue where I'm going in life, except that I like psychology and I want to get published someday. I guess that's more than a lot of people have got by 18, though.
