DADA - Lesson Two -
The Expelliarmus Disarming Jinx
Greeting again, class! Glad to see such participation in the set homework task, and if you have yet to complete it, i advise that you do promptly.
Now today we shall learn the Expelliarmus Spell. This spell will not harm your target, as it is only a disarming jinx.
It's inventor is still unknown but the first recorded casting of this spell was by Lucas C. Shaw, a now deceased Auror, who was famous for his skill at trap conjuration.
This jinx, when cast on a novice level, will remove the wand from your target's hand and send it a fair distance through the air.
To execute this spell you must keep direct eye contact on your chosen target and say: "Expelliarmus" clearly and loudly, then once your incantation is complete, you may wave your wand sharply in your target's direction.
But remember! Because your target is without a wand doesn't mean that they cannot retrieve it or chant a curse your way. So be on guard.
DID YOU KNOW?
Alastor "Mad-eye" Moody, a loyal Auror, was the first wizard to ever disarm multiple targets with one Expelliarmus spell. It is written that he was ambushed by three Death Eaters and in one flick of his wand, he disarmed them all.
Homework Task - Quick Questions:
1. Who was the first to cast the Expelliarmus spell?
2. What kind of Jinx is the Expelliarmus spell?
3. Write a brief set of bullet-point instructions on the correct method for casting the aforementioned spell.
Please submit this set task before the next lesson commences. Thank you!
