History of Magic
Teacher: Alexander Black
Form of Address: Professor Black
Welcome to History of Magic!
As I'm sure all of you are aware, all things have a beginning, a middle, and an end. The study of the first part is what History entails, and that is what this course will be looking at. Here, we shall strive to learn more about how our present civilization has arrived at its current point--what where the wars, conflicts, treaties, and agreements that forged our very culture and traditions. Nothing has ever come to be spontaneously, as this course will show you, and hopefully, we shall learn, together, the joy that is reliving and understanding the stories of the past.
For, after all, is not history simply a story?
Course Aims
Now, as per the requirements made for my position, I will be assigning a task (for homework makes it sound dull) every two weeks that I fully expect to be completed within five days. Marking should then take no more than a day, if an hour, at which point the marks shall be posted up for individual perusal.
Every month, however, a sort-of test will be posted to examine how well you've managed to understand the material, both on a literal basis, as well as individual basis. The former meaning that you shall be graded both on your ability to tell me what you've learned, but also how you see the learned material as being important. Thus, purely verbatim answers will result in docked points.
In the interest of making my life easier, as well as yours, frankly, the following is the format for sending me your homework and tests.

That should be all, really. I do so hope you will enjoy the fascinating course that is History of Magic.
Sincerely,
Professor Alexander Black
