Care of Magical Creatures (short: CoMC) I welcome you to a new year of Care of Magical Creatures. My name is Professor Zan Taylor and I will be guiding you trough your education. As you well know, this is not a subject where we sit in classrooms and bore over books, cauldrons or try to turn frog-spawn into sesame seeds. This is a class in which you will learn all about magical creatures, and how to take care, behave in front of, or handle them. Therefore, I should like to ask you all to always consider that you are dealing with living beings, who have feelings and plans of their own. Do not take this lightly! During our first term, we will start with a very quick general introduction, and then proceed to small creatures such as gnomes, billywigs (those of you from Australia should know them well) and knarls. It is essential for you to bring a copy of "Fantastic Beast and where to find them" by Newt Scamander to every lesson. We will meet in the entrance hall, and proceed from there. I hope you will enjoy my classes and good luck for your other subjects! NOTE on Homework:Please use the form below when you hand in homework by PMing me: ~~~ Lesson: (please put in the date and name of the lesson) House:
(Then write the set homework)~~~ [If there are any more questions, please post them in this thread.]

Class Attendance List as of August 4, 2007
NOTE: As it is much easier for me to address you using your last name, I will set up surnames for those of you who didn't volunteer any. Please PM me if you want a different one, and I'll change it immediately. It would be useful, also, to let me know your gender in case the name is impartial.
(in alphabetical order)
Ashley Hutchison (Pyromaniac) - Slytherin Diana Welsh - Slytherin Knianna Grimm - Ravenclaw Lot Lizard - Gryffindor Mimi Wicked - Ravenclaw Realmer Sichs (Realmer06) - Ravenclaw Taku Aiden - Ravenclaw
I welcome you, Ravenclaws and Slytherins, to my class again and hope we'll have a pleasant term!
August 4: I'm happy to introduce a new student to our class - Lot Lizard, who's in Gryffindor. I trust the rest of you will help her catch up with lessons if need be.

I've joined the subject late and I was wondering if you'd want me to just write about catching gnomes on my own rather than be partnered with someone as the activity has passed.

That's quite alright. I'm happy to welcome my first student from Gryffindor, I hope you'll have fun with my subject!
Since you joined late, I want you to complete this week's homework on ghouls first before you start on last week's lesson about gnomes.
Don't forget, this week are also mid-term exams, so finish those before you hand in the gnomes homework, too.

You cannot start second term, that is definately against the rules. Honestly, how could you graduate from first year without doing the whole year. How unfair to the others whom have done the work.
First Semester will be run again in second sememster. Simultaneously as Second semester, for the latecomers. You may start then, and continue the course as the others, only a term behind. Or you can finish semester one now, and take the exams on Aug 25?

I'm a late comer. As I am taking every class... this will become difficult but I'm prepared to Start first semester now. Is that alright?

That is fine. But you should know the penalties if you do not meet the criteria.
