Muggle children have some similarities and differences from Wizard children growing up.
One similarity is the primary caregiver. In most Muggle and Wizarding families, the parents usually take care of the child with perhaps a nanny or babysitter stepping in once in a while.
As you all probably know, there are no Wizarding primary schools to learn things like reading and writing. Wizard families are expected to teach those things to their children before attending Wizarding School (e.g. Hogwarts, Durmstrang, Beauxbatons).
In the Muggle world, children, usually around age 5 or 6, start attending primary school. This school teaches the basic things like reading, writing, and basic math. They also learn things like History and Science. Science is the study of life and natural elements and how they work. You can kind of think of Muggle Science as a mix between our Wizard forms of Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, and other things like Astronomy. There are also classes for Art, Music, and Physical Education. In Art, they learn to draw and paint and things like that. In music they learn to play instruments and learn about famous Muggle composers like Mozart and Beethoven. Muggles don't have Quidditch and flying, so instead they play Muggle sports like football, baseball, and hockey. We will learn about sports in a later lesson. Physical Education class teaches these kinds of sports along with running and other ways to keep healthy.
After primary school could either come "middle school", then "high school", or just "high school" depending on how they divide up the ages in that area. The older you get in school, the more focused and difficult the learning becomes, similar to Hogwarts.
ASSIGNMENT:
Pretend you are a Muggle student. Write a journal entry describing your day at school. This entry should be at least 3 paragraphs, no more than 6, please. Then I would like 1 to 2 paragraphs comparing Muggle learning to Wizard learning.
