One of my friends had to write a short story for english once, it ended up being six pages or something, way more then it was meant to be. His teacher marked it, he got the top mark and the teacher suggested he worked on it more, she wanted to see where it could go and all that, he had always been wanting to write a story, but couldnt seem to get a plot he liked. With the encouragement from his teacher, he looked over his story again and soon found himself writing more of it. Now it is a full novel, with detailed pictures and ready to be published. His teacher's husband or something is in a publishing company and she glanced over it, soon became hooked and has now gotten it on its way to get published. Fortunately and unfortunately, it is all about the people you know. lol. Those stories all sound brilliant by the way. I reckon that the M/M ones should be pushed really hard to be published, but then again, im a slasher so *shrug* might be a bit biased. lol. However, they all do sound wonderful and I cant wait to read them when they get published. I deliberately said when by the way. because it is so going happen I have had ideas floating around my head... started them and done some charcter profiles.... but today I've had one hit me and I really want to continue it and actually write it out. Oh the joys of Ext english. Our teacher wants us to come up with a plot for a gothic novel, and after she told us the things that must be in it, something clicked and before I realized what I was doing I had already written a page of the actual book... lol. Then I realized we were meant to be reading Frankenstein. oops. Once it is worked out a little more and I know what I am doing, I'll post it up.

Scream: Sounds cool, can't wait to hear a proper summary. Don't you just love it when ideas pop into your head out of nowhere? I bring a notebook and a pen literally everywhere I go in case I get the idea for the world's next Harry Potter-esque phenomenon. lol, I mean, I go to the movies and I have a notebook on me. All my friends make fun of me for it. I'm kind of worried about doing the MM, 'cause I'm afraid a lot of people won't read it just on principle, which would be a waste 'cause I think the story behind the pairing is really good. lol, plus my dad's totally homophobic and might disown me if I publish a gay novel. Yeah, it really is about who you know, isn't it? My uncle's a rock star, my aunt works on Saturday Night Live, but of course I've got to pick the one media-centered hobby that I've got no family connections to...

Oh, it's so nice to find a group of other authors, where I can utter the phrase "I was working on my novel" and not get strange looks!
I've got two that are my main projects, and I try to concentrate on them when I'm not writing fanfiction or short stories.
The first is called Whatever Happened to Happily Ever After? and its premise is that all of the happy endings in all the fairy tales have been rewritten. Something has happened at the beginning of each story that makes the happily ever after impossible. For example, Sleeping Beauty was never cursed at her christening and the prince for Cinderella was a girl. So all the main characters of the stories go on a quest together to find out who has be rewriting their stories and why.
My other is more serious and doesn't have a firm title yet because I keep changing my mind. It is set in the kingdom of Setsprings and focuses on Shannon, nine years old at the start of the story, a mute orphan with music magic. As the story opens, she is kicked out of the tavern where she's been working on the eve of a blizzard. Caught out in the storm, she nearly dies, but is found and rescued by a farmer and is eventually taken in by the Prince of the kingdom. The story follows her growth over eight years, as she opens up, begins speaking again, and works with her tutor Colton to master her magic. When war breaks out between Setsprings and the neighboring kingdom of Amarthac, Colton is called to serve, and Shannon finds herself caught up in a plot masterminded by a dark mage, Elcaron, and it's up to her to defeat him and save her friends and kingdom.
Obviously, the second is the more serious of the two. But the first requires honestly more outlining and conscious working out of things before I can write.
Everything that everyone's talked about here sounds like so much fun! I wish you all the best of luck with your writing!

Wooooowww ya'lls stories are awesome!!!!!! I've got 2 in the works, one that is almost finished that I've been working on since I was 12. First story has a little bit of everything. It's got humor/romance/mystery/action the whole shabang. It's about a girl and her best friend solving a murder. But it's a little more difficult than that. See, the main character and her best friend are the rebells in school, always pulling pranks, but most of all they stand up against the rich snotty kids that seem to run the school. Also, their typical girls, with crushes on two of the popular senior boys.Well, when one of the snotty girls turns up dead and my main charachter and best friend are the last two to see her alive, they become the prime suspects. They have to find the killer to clear their names. But what happens when all the evidence points to their two senior crushes? lol I really cant wait to get that story published. It's my baby. Second story is about a half vampire half angel. It's difficult to explain because of the clans of warring vampires and ect., but basically, Heaven and Hell want this vampire, and they send their minions to get her. She teams up with a crazy cooky Angel and a not so bad Demon to find their missing friends, and encounter a pluthera of creatures along the way. Let me know what ya'll think!

Well, like I've said loads of times they all sound really good. I can definitly see your one about the two girls being a hit with teenagers broken2nite!
You should definitly try writing down your ideas Raine. I had ideas floating around my head for so long, that when I finally started to write, I realised I chose the worst possible time. University gives very little time for writing, but if I had more time I can imagine that the writing process would go much faster.

I like the fact that most of them have an element of supernatural... lol. But there are still some that don't and an interesting plot is maintained by the sounds of things.
realmer06: that happily ever after one sounds absolutely brilliant. really clever. what made you think of going into that kind of thing?

I have always been a huge fan of fairy tales, first of all, and you can't imagine how upset I was when I read the originals for the first time and they were nothing like the Disney movies! That was my freshman year of high school. We had to compare the originals to the Disney stories either favorably or unfavorably. My comparison was not favorable. One of the points I made in the paper was that very few of the original stories have a guaranteed happily ever after.
That got me thinking. What if the characters in these stories knew what was supposed to happen? And then, what if someone changed it? How would they react? It took me about three years to do, but I finally have a working outline. I now have 23 stories and their changes worked out. The full quest will span these 23 stories with total of 36 characters.
So, I guess . . . thank Disney's LIttle Mermaid and my 9th grade English teacher!

lol thats awesome!
I often prefer the originals to the disney movies, as awesome as they all are, like the Cinderella stories! ohhhh. there are some good ones... very vengeful she can be... or at least her magical helpers (not a fairy godmother, in the Chinese one, it is an old man, the english one they are bird, another one is the tree, supposedly possessed by her mother or something). They are really interesting reads at least. search some out, the Chinese one, called yen-shen, and I think it was the French one...
In a week I will probably be posting my outline for the "gothic novel" which i have to do for ext english but have become attached to and want to actually writing the complete novel, not just an outline. But right now, all I know is there is a naive girl, a haunted mansion, girls from the town disappearing, a boy who knows more then he lets on and some kind of mystery. lol. Oh and she kind of gets sent back in time. ... sorta. but thats really all I know so far... half of it is compulsory due to my teacher, the rest is my own warped thinking. oh joys.

haha thanks I guess. It's going to be an interesting time planning for it and actually writing it... I'll probably get half way through, get annoyed at it and delete most of it... I did that once with a story I was writing. Killed me to do it, but I had the chapters re-done soon enough and it's better... I just haven't had time to work on it. :3
That's a M/M story, but doesn't really have a story line yet, so I won't speak of it for the time being... when i get time to even glance at it, then I'll see what I can do.

Oh, that's what happened with mine!! I had half a years work on my novel that I had to delete. I almost cried doing it, lol, but because I was no longer writing it in two parts it wasn't going to make sense.

lol, scream: you've got to watch out when posting MM stories online. I once got a review with someone screaming at me that I was a "gay queer loser and I should die" I think the wording was. I'm like... huh? I'm a girl... and I wrote a scene with two guys making out. How does that make me gay? Weirdoes... (not that I have a problem w/ people who are gay, obviously, I just find poorly thought out insults amusing. )

Yeah some people's responses aren't very well thought out. I had someone reply with a "this is so brilliant... but I don't like that Harry is gay... or that Draco is... or that Draco got eyeliner on Harry... the whole thing had no plot! what the hell is wrong with you?!"
haha It confused me sooo much. And some people read over my shoulder when I was working on my actual story when I was at school... and now they all think I'm gay. Hahaha. It's funny cuz it's almost become a nickname with some friends of mine. I am now, "The Dyke"... but that was because some kids down my street saw me when I had my hair in a mowhawk and were like... "DYKE! DYKE!!! DYKE!!!" They were like 8 or something. They tried following me home... so I turned around and started walking at them... they ran, but not before one of them said, "It's an emo too!!!"
lol. It's fun working things like that into story ideas.. just for weird quirks....

Hey, have you guys ever thought of posting your novels on fictionpress? You can get some feed back on them. Your ideas rock! I'm not even half as creative, you should go for it.
