(just a small note. This thread will be used for all Hogwarts interactions in the RPG. We decided to split it up. Taking on two characters to ensure participation in both threads is fine.)
Peter sat down on the bench at the Gryffindor table, his small, watery eyes flicking about the students as he nervously chewed his finger nails. He could see his three friends laughing and joking loudly, but for once he was not paying attention to them.
Peter looked up as the door opened and Severus Snape walked in late. He frowned to himself, wondering what Snape had been doing when his attention was arrested by Lupin.

oh, good. That makes more sense. I'll repost my earlier intro post here, then, just so people are up to date:
Severus Snape scowled as he stepped into the Great Hall. The tension in the air was tangible, and he immediately realized that he had interupted the sorting. He should have taken longer to leave the Malfoy's manor and apparate into Hogsmeade- he had been in a rush returning, sure that he could still beat the Hogwarts Express to the school after his Lord had dismissed him. Now he was sure that he should have moved more slowly, and snuck in during the feast. This was his first year attending Hogwarts as an officially inducted Death Eater, and the last thing he needed was to upset his Lord's favor by getting under Dumbledore's wary eye so early on.
As the heavy Hall door creaked shut behind him many of the students watching the sorting turned to face him curiously instead. For a moment he froze, sure that the question in each of these students' minds was the same: "Where has Severus Snape been, and why did he miss the train?" In dangerous times such as these such simple questions could hold a lot of weight.
At the front of the Hall the Sorting Hat chose that moment to appropriately shout, "Slytherin!" and attention returned quickly to the first years. Severus was glad for the excuse to slink off to the Slytherin table without hundreds of eyes upon him.
As he passed the Gryffindor table he couldn't help catching Lily's eye, though. She was sitting, of course, in the midst of that fool, Potter, and his detestable cronies, but instead of booing at Salazar's newest chosen like the rest of their group, she was eyeing Severus with an expression of almost, if it were possible, concern.
His lip curling in a sneer, he pointedly turned away from her and continued on to his house table. She was Potter's girl now, after all, and the last thing he needed was her interest.

A girl sat a bit away from the rest of the Slytherin group, looking up at the ceiling with interest. Her dark hair and green/gold eyes made her seem rather odd, ignoring the fact she mouthing something to herself. She didn't look over when Severus walked in, rather she looked up at the Sorting Hat, quite bored with the whole thing. This would be her last year at Hogwarts, and she had to make it count. For many reasons.

Regulus Black looked toward Severus anxiously, his blue eyes trained on the other. He respected the elder Slytherin greatly and he knew that he had gotten marked over the summer.
He couldn't wait until he turned 16! That would be so wonderful... when he could join the Dark Lord in his purification of the wizarding world. He smiled a bit greedily, thinking of what his Cousin Bella always told of the Dark Lord. What a powerful man, to have so many faithful followers.
"Severus," Regulus beaconed to his friend. "What happened? Is everything all right?" He could bit take the worry out of his voice, he couldn't help but being concerned about what might have caused the delay.

The girl did look over at the two Slytherins after a moment, Severus and Regulus. She had good hearing and smiled faintly, almost in a dreamy sort of way before she looked around when someone whispered her name. "Fermittre Vadernac, what are you thinking about?" It was a girl Fermittre knew, and she shrugged, muttering something before glancing over at the two boys again. Seventh year would be interesting...

"Look who showed up late," Sirius elbowed James and he and the rest of the Marauders turned their attention to Severus Snape, late, walking through the doors of the Great Hall. "Wonder what ole' Snivillus has been up to." Sirius ran a lazy hand through his jet black hair, his dark blue eyes scanning the Slytherin table. He saw Snape speaking in a low hushed tone to his brother Regulus. He scowled. Snape was going to help lead his brother down a dark path, and there was nothing he could do about it.

Regulus felt eyes, other than Severus's on him, and turned to meet eyes with that person, stormy gray meeting icy blue. "Sirius," he uttered, seeing his brother again, for the first time since the school year ended. He remembered how he got tormented all the time by his older brother, and had been glad when Sirius had run away from home at first, but now regretted the other's decision to do so. His name had been blotted off of the family tree that week by his enraged mother.

Fermittre watched the others, then took out a book from in her robes and began to read. It might be rude, but she didn't seem to care. She wrote notes in the margin and rubbed at her neck, not paying attention to the sorting or the people around her now. It was all rather boring anyway.

Sirius met his younger brothers eyes for a fleeting second before turning away. He had no desire to speak to any of his family, not after he made his decision to run away and his mother had blasted him off of the family tree and out of their lives forever. He smirked, wondering how furious his mother had been when she'd found that all of the posters and pictures in his room had been placed there with permanent sticking charms.
The only thing that Sirius even remotely regretted was the fact that he could not save his younger brother from the road that was before him. Sirius had chosen the path of Light and his brother had chosen otherwise. Sirius knew that there was no way he himself could save his brother, it was a decision he would have to make on his own...the only thing Sirius knew was the Snape would pay for leading his brother down such a path.

Regulus watched as his brother turned away from him quickly, his entire being burning with an unholy rage that swept through him like a wildfire. Was this the way that his older brother was going to treat him?! He sneered, crossing his arms, no longer interested in anything other than talking to Barty later that night in the Common Room.

Peter watched his friend sneering at his brother and Snape and gave a small, excited grin. He loved seeing Sirius and James picking on Snivellus. Regulus was usually ignored, but if he was going to prove new sport then that would be amusing...
"Sirius, why do you think Snivellus came in late?" Peter asked with a small grin. He loved stirring up problems.

"Hey," Sirius said to his mates, drawing their attention to him. "What do you say we pay ole' Snivillus a visit here soon, via the Marauder's Map? I'm in the mood for a bit of fun," he smirked, his eyes settling upon the greasy long haired crooked nose young man sitting next to his younger brother. Oh yes, Snape would pay alright.

Lily watched the sorting intently, trying to ignore Sirius and Regulus's stare down. "Where are all the Gryffindors?" she muttered under her breath. Lily's red hair fell into her eyesight as she brushed it away like one would brush away a fly. She stared down at her plate, thinking about Severus. Sometimes she regretted what she said to him, that day outside the Common Room. But he chose his path. But that didn't stop her from missing his friendship, after all, he had taught her about the magical world.
When she heard Sirius talking about messing with Snape, she turned to the Marauder's and glared, "Can't you keep your hands to yourselves and stop messing with Severus?" She tried to keep her voice soft, but she noted a slight edge in her voice. They couldn't even wait a week after school started. She shot an icy glare at James for good measure.

Peter was trying to get Sirius' attention, but his squeeky voice went unhead as Lily decided to set in to the boys. "Still got a thing for Snivilles, have yah Lily?" Sirius sneered, giving her a disgusted look. James had been in love with Lily Evans since he had first set eyes upon her on the train their first year, but it had become quite obvious that Snape also had his eyes on the pretty red head. Sirius honestly didn't know what either saw in her. He preferred brunettes.
Peter would not stop pestering Sirius about why he thought Snape had come in so late, so finally Sirius deiced to pay the poor little mousy boy some attention that he obviously craved. "Oh, I'm sure he was hanging about with all his Death Eater mates, and I'm sure my lovely little brother would had been right at his coat tails if he was sixteen. Something has to be done about these Death Eating scum in our school," Sirius growled, causing James and Remus to come to attention. "It is time to put our heads together mates! Lets have some fun!"

Peter flashed his eyes hatefully towards Lily. She always stole James's attention and he didn't like it one bit. He didn't care how pretty she was; it didn't change the fact that now he felt less secure in his friendship.
Peter had always known he was never truly accepted. He wasn't stupid, and he realised that James was the only one keeping him in the group. Sirius would have gotten rid of him long ago, and Lupin was too mellow to stand up for him. James was different; he was always good to him...that was until that mudblood got in the way...
Peter took a sip of his drink and stared at Sirius, a bit of juice dribbling down his robes. "You think he really is a Death Eater than?" Peter asked.
